Rodrygo has already told Xabi Alonso: 'Liverpool want him to make fans forget about Salah'
Months of intense internal debate are approaching at Real Madrid, and the directors already have one eye on the transfer market
Turbulent times are unfolding in Real Madrid's offensive area. Surprisingly, both Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo have taken a step back since Kylian Mbappé's arrival, the new reference point and undeniable idol of the fans. The level of the two Brazilian strikers is inexplicably low and far from what they showed in previous years.
Even so, last summer a possible change of scenery for both was already looming, but neither of them wanted to leave and Xabi Alonso was not in favor of such a radical change. Both stayed and the Spanish coach gave them a new opportunity to redeem themselves after their lackluster previous season. The truth is that neither of them is quite managing to do so.
Vinicius does seem to be more settled in the starting eleven, with somewhat inconsistent matches, but being relevant from time to time. Quite the opposite of Rodrygo, who has already moved into the background at Real Madrid; an almost rotation player who is barely having any prominence. In LaLiga, he has only started in one of the eight matches played so far, with a more testimonial participation in five others.

Rodrygo has not yet scored a single goal or provided a single assist in LaLiga; he does have one assist in the Champions League. It has become clear, then, that he is not to Xabi Alonso's liking and, therefore, his departure from the white team seems imminent. Real Madrid is already working on it.
Xabi Alonso looks for Rodrygo's replacement
Obviously, before letting a player of such stature leave, a replacement must first be found. From Real Madrid's offices, they are already beginning to consider options and one of those that Xabi Alonso liked most is Michael Olise, from Bayern Munich. The French footballer, born in London, is excelling this season in the Bavarian capital.

This season, he already has 8 goals and another 8 assists in 15 matches played and is immovable in Vincent Kompany's plans. With the Bavarian club, he has a contract until 2029 and, obviously, they have no intention of letting him leave the team. As if that were not enough, another element has appeared in the equation, Liverpool, who intend to make a strong bid for Michael Olise.
At Anfield, they are already beginning to consider a future without Mohamed Salah, who renewed his contract a few months ago until 2027. At 33 years old, the Egyptian is still performing at a high level, but the truth is that a decline in his performance is already becoming noticeable. That's why, after thoroughly analyzing the market, Liverpool desires to sign Michael Olise to bring about a generational change on their right wing.
This means that Real Madrid's chances of signing Michael Olise are becoming practically nil. However, unless the situation changes radically in the coming months, Rodrygo's future as a Madrid player still seems almost unimaginable. In the offices on Castellana, they will have to keep looking for other options for that position.
