Unexpected change at Real Madrid with Arda Güler is now final, Jude Bellingham knows it

Xabi Alonso's arrival on the Madrid bench has meant a radical change for many footballers

New coach, new life. This is what has happened at Real Madrid with Xabi Alonso's arrival on the Bernabéu bench. One of the main goals of the former footballer was to give a new lease on life to great players who, for one reason or another, hadn't managed to reach their full potential. One of them is Arda Güler.

The Turkish footballer has been reborn this year after his last two seasons were spent mostly in obscurity. Carlo Ancelotti barely gave him trust and that lack of rhythm prevented Arda Güler from showing his true value. Now he is an absolute protagonist in Xabi's plans and it's hard to imagine a starting eleven without him.

The truth is that he has also benefited in some way from Jude Bellingham's long-term injury. Arda Güler has performed well on the right wing, but it has become clear in recent matches that his best version emerges as an attacking midfielder. That's exactly the position the Englishman used to occupy, who is now fully recovered.

In any case, Arda Güler is now, without a doubt, one of the key reference footballers at current Real Madrid. Nearly all of the team's attacks go through his feet and he has taken on a leadership role that no one expected him to take. He has started in seven of the eight LaLiga matches played so far and in both Champions League games.

Arda Güler is, in fact, the seventh most-used player in the Real Madrid squad by Xabi Alonso this season. In this ranking, he is ahead of high-profile players such as Vinicius, Militao, Alexander-Arnold, Rodrygo, or Franco Mastantuono. In addition, he has 3 goals and 4 assists in the first 10 matches of the season; not bad for someone who is mainly a midfielder.

Arda Güler, non-transferable

All things considered, Arda Güler is now completely off Real Madrid's list of transferable players. That's despite the fact that last summer there was a lot of talk about a possible departure of the Ottoman, either on loan or as a transfer. In fact, there are many clubs with great financial power that are after him, such as Arsenal or Newcastle. But it seems they're going to be left empty-handed.

In the Premier League, his level is highly appreciated, but, as we said, no one at Real Madrid is currently considering a possible sale of Arda Güler. In any case, they would have to make a very high offer to be able to take him to the island. This, of course, makes Jude Bellingham the main loser, since right now, Arda Güler is clearly ahead of him in Xabi's plans.

It's curious how in soccer, as in life, the script can change dramatically from one moment to the next. What is clear is that Arda Güler has known how to seize the opportunity that fickle fate has given him. Carlo Ancelotti hadn't done that before.
