Betrayed, Robert Lewandowski confirms he's leaving: 'I'm not going to play anymore'

Barça's '9' sends a message through his social media to confirm the news

Robert Lewandowski keeps showing that at almost 37 years old, he remains one of the best goal scorers in world soccer. The Polish striker has just completed an excellent season where he managed to score an impressive 42 goals in 52 matches. Robert has shown that he takes perfect care of himself and that he still has plenty of energy left.

In fact, just a few days ago, a report came to light indicating that the culer's biological age is 30 years (30 años). Robert Lewandowski is a competitive beast: he has spent his entire career competing at the highest level, achieving great success both collectively and individually. He still isn't thinking about retirement; Barça need him.

Joan Laporta was clear about it: he renewed his contract for one more year and, for now, considers it unnecessary to look for a replacement. However, although Robert Lewandowski is happy in Barcelona, things are different with his national team. The culer goal scorer has confirmed that he won't compete for Poland again as long as Michal Probierz remains the coach.

Robert Lewandowski steps down from the Polish national team

The '9' of FC Barcelona has explained in detail the reasons for such a decision: he believes he has been disrespected. His disagreements with the coach have led him to make this decision; it's not a tantrum from the goal scorer but a very well-thought-out decision. In fact, as he himself explained, they took away the captaincy of the Polish national team from him for no reason and in a disrespectful manner.

Robert Lewandowski, Poland's most decisive player, has scored 85 goals in 185 matches with his national team. However, to everyone's surprise, he has decided not to return until the coach leaves. This decision could cost him the chance to participate in the last major tournament he hopes to reach: the 2026 World Cup.

Robert Lewandowski explains the reasons for his farewell

Lewandowski clearly explains the reasons for his decision: "I received a surprise call from coach Michal Probierz with the information that he had decided to take away my armband. I wasn't prepared for it; I was putting my children to bed. I've had the armband for eleven years and have been with the national team for seventeen."

Robert Lewandowski believes these matters should have been handled differently. The split with the Polish coach is complete and, for now, Lewandowski is ending his career with Poland. The Polish striker is focusing on starting a new season with Barça where, without a doubt, his goals will once again be decisive.
