Real Madrid pays €50M for their next '9': Kylian Mbappé is happy with his new partner

Mbappé is on his way to his second golden boot. While it's true that he faces strong competition from Harry Kane and Erling Haaland for this distinction, the French forward is showing himself at a level that's practically unreachable for anyone else. He is, possibly, the best forward in the world right now.

In this context, it seems unthinkable that changes could be made in the '9' position for Real Madrid. However, a deep and intrinsic analysis of the white club shows us that, although Mbappé is soaring, his substitutes are light years behind him. Neither Endrick nor Gonzalo García are performing at the level expected of a forward for the merengue team; not even that of a backup.

Therefore, even though signing a '9' doesn't appear to be one of the priorities for Real Madrid next summer, they are still keeping an eye on the transfer market. The price for Manchester United, Manchester City, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Barça, and Real Madrid is 50 million euros for Guirassy. It's a real bargain considering the great performances the Guinean striker born in Arles has shown he can deliver. In fact, just last season, he scored no fewer than 38 goals and provided 9 assists in the 50 matches he played.

His great goal-scoring instinct remains intact this season, in which he already has 6 goals and 4 assists in just 10 appearances. Guirassy would certainly be a great addition for Real Madrid. He would be strong competition for Kylian Mbappé in the '9' position. Or, even, why not, both could play together in an attacking line that would also include Vinicius.

Dortmund has made this decision because Guirassy is already approaching 30 years old (30 años), and despite performing perfectly, they're looking for fresh blood. It's, without a doubt, another great triumph for the sporting management of those from North Rhine-Westphalia. We're getting used to seeing great stars emerge in their forward line. Guirassy is the latest on the list.

Be that as it may, for now, we can't label this as anything other than a "rumor." The priorities of the capital entity are to strengthen a backline that this season continues to show many shortcomings, especially physically. Perhaps also a winger, since Rodrygo seems to be on borrowed time at Real Madrid.
