This is the exact date of Camp Nou's opening: Joan Laporta has already received the order

Joan Laporta sees the light for the opening of Spotify Camp Nou

Joan Laporta is, without a doubt, the best president in FC Barcelona's history. After the years of management by Bartomeu and Rosell, Barça was left on the verge of bankruptcy and it hasn't been easy at all to find a way to straighten out the club's finances. Thanks to major sales like that of Leo Messi and the famous financial levers, Laporta has achieved what seemed impossible.

The return to the 1:1 rule of financial fair play imposed by La Liga has been full of complications. However, despite all the efforts, the reality is that the strategy devised by Joan Laporta is based on the success of his flagship project: the new Camp Nou. Renovation work that has caused a major headache for the Barça president due to continuous delays.

The first date Joan Laporta gave for the inauguration of Camp Nou was set for November 2024. Since then, countless problems have occurred. Delays in the construction and in obtaining permits have meant that, almost a year later, Barça still hasn't been able to play at home. At least until now, because Camp Nou already has a reopening date: we already know which will be the first match played there.

Hallelujah! Camp Nou already has an opening date

Joan Laporta has reported that the match corresponding to matchday 5 of La Liga against Getafe will be played this Sunday night at Johan Cruyff. The statement indicates that the club is doing everything possible to obtain the appropriate official certificates for the upcoming opening of Camp Nou. In fact, it has already been leaked that September 28, against Real Sociedad, could be the D-day.

Similarly, Joan Laporta is also working intensively so that the Champions League match against PSG on October 1 will also be at Camp Nou. To make this a reality, Barça will also need to enable the second team area opposite the main stand.

Final construction certificate approved

The odyssey with the construction and the return to Camp Nou seems to be close to ending after obtaining the final certificate. This certificate allows Barça to activate the next phase, the next requirement to be able to open the stadium doors. Joan Laporta has already sent the document to the Barcelona City Council, which will have the authority to grant, or not, the first occupancy permit.

If the response is positive, the first available capacity for Camp Nou will be 27,000 spectators. It can't be against Getafe, but it should be ready for the 28th against Real Sociedad. Happiness is total at FC Barcelona.
