Pp Assumes Pedro Sánchez's Defeat

Spokesperson Cuca Gamarra has assessed the polls live

Alberto Núñez Feijóo is already at the PP headquarters in Génova to follow the counting of the general elections. Polls give a clear victory to his party, which would come close to an absolute majority with Vox's deputies.

The party's spokesperson Cuca Gamarra has appeared to offer an initial assessment of the polls. With restrained satisfaction, she stated that "PP is going to regain the position of the leading political force." PP sees the dreamed turnaround closer to starting a new political cycle.

The spokesperson recalled that "since '96 with Felipe González, no Prime Minister who has run for re-election has lost the elections." For the populares, "everything seems to indicate that today there is someone who has indeed lost them, and that is Pedro Sánchez." PP assumes Pedro Sánchez's defeat before the counting begins.

Cuca Gamarra highlighted that today is "a great election day." According to her, "Spaniards have been asked who we want to be the next president, and clearly and overwhelmingly it seems the answer has been Alberto Núñez Feijóo."

Populares Would Win the Elections

Most polls give around 150 seats to the Partido Popular, which with Vox's could reach an absolute majority. The right-wing bloc could reach up to 180 deputies.

In any case, PSOE would be far from the populares with around 112 deputies, well below the last elections. In Génova, there is restrained euphoria, although the first counts are being experienced with nerves. PSOE has started winning, although the night is going to be long.

At the PP headquarters, they know that today it is not enough just to win, but a decisive defeat must be inflicted on PSOE. Any result that leaves Pedro Sánchez alive would be a failure for Feijóo's candidacy. For now, the uncertainty remains as the count progresses.
