Sergio Busquets makes a decision after saying goodbye and admits the truth about his wife and children

Sergio Busquets, one of the great figures in Spanish soccer, has officially announced his retirement as a professional player. At 37 years old and after almost two decades at the top, the Inter Miami midfielder will end his career at the close of the current MLS season.

If his team reaches the final, his last match will be on December 6. "I feel that the time has come to say goodbye to my career as a professional footballer. It's been almost 20 years enjoying this unbelievable story I always dreamed of," the player stated.

Busquets was a key piece in the best Barça in history and also excelled with the Spanish national team. Now, he shares a locker room at Inter Miami with friends and former teammates like Lionel Messi, Jordi Alba, and Luis Suárez.

On September 20, a few days before announcing his retirement, he surprised everyone by proposing to Elena. Now, with a wedding on the way and their children as witnesses, the couple is starting a new chapter.

"I'm retiring very happy, proud, fulfilled, and above all grateful... Thank you all very much, see you soon," Busquets concluded. He also added a phrase that sums up his current moment: "Every ending is a new beginning."
