Barça's ratings against PSG: Luis Enrique overwhelms Flick and singles out 3 stars

Luis Enrique's PSG suffocates Barça under Flick, wins at Montjuïc (1-2), and singles out three stars from the blaugrana team

Barça suffered a narrow defeat (1-2) against PSG in the second matchday of the UEFA Champions League league phase. The match was evenly balanced until halftime, when Luis Enrique's PSG took a step forward and completely suffocated Flick's Barça, which was left reeling. The match was decided in the final moments, when Ramos scored a goal before added time in a play where Alejandro Balde was singled out, especially by Flick.

Luis Enrique was the big winner of a match that was spectacular, especially for the more than 50,000 spectators who gathered at Montjuïc. The Champions League returned to the magical mountain and made it clear that PSG remain a step above Barça, in part thanks to the Asturian Luis Enrique. Luis Enrique, however, didn't forget Barça and stated that Flick's team "Will bring much joy to the culers in these coming seasons."

Barça weren't up to the level of the match against a PSG  that arrived with significant absences.  Barça, however,  also arrived heavily affected by the injuries to Fermín, Joan García, Raphinha, and Gavi, who missed this second round of the Champions league phase. Luis Enrique got the better of FC Barcelona, which will play another Spanish league match this coming Sunday in Seville against Matías Almeyda's team (4:15 p.m.).

Barça's ratings against PSG: Luis Enrique suffocates Flick and singles out 3 stars

Wojciech Szczęsny (4): Weak match from Barça's Polish goalkeeper, who made some good saves but was imprecise with the ball at his feet. Joan García's absence was very noticeable against PSG, as he underwent surgery a few days ago and will return in the coming weeks.

Gerard Martín (7): He was a starter again and had a great match despite the demands of the game. Martín is ahead of Balde, at least defensively. He didn't have an easy match and was solid when it came to stopping a Hakimi who kept pushing offensively in the match played at Montjuïc.

Eric García (9): Colossal match from the central defender from Martorell, who continues at an unbelievable level and won 8 out of 9 direct duels in the European match. He was excellent this time as a center-back. He was replaced by a Christensen who came on because the Catalan defender was completely exhausted physically.

Pau Cubarsí (4): Poor match from the Catalan central defender, who can be much more decisive in defense. He wasn't sharp in the first PSG goal, which was scored by Senny Mayulu.

Jules Koundé (4): The French defender isn't in good form and it was evident against PSG. He wasn't effective in attack nor was he key in defense. Flick needs him to regain his form so he can once again be one of the best right-backs in the world.

Frenkie de Jong (6): The Dutchman wasn't bad, but he didn't organize Barça as he usually does. He received a yellow card for a tackle on Nuno Mendes that affected him for the rest of the match against Luis Enrique's team.

Pedri (7): Good match from the Spanish midfielder, who had to be substituted in the final minutes by Marc Bernal. Vitinha was slightly better than the Spaniard in this first clash of the year between Barça and PSG.

Dani Olmo (3): Disastrous match from the attacking midfielder from Terrassa, who still isn't performing at the level expected of a Barça starter. He's starting because Fermín López is injured, but his season has been poor, at least so far.

Marcus Rashford (8): Another good match from the English winger, who provided a great assist for the first and only goal of the match, which was scored by Ferran Torres.

Ferran Torres (8): Barça's number 9 was sharp and precise, especially in Barça's first goal. He worked hard pressing and gave his all.

Lamine Yamal (6): Weak match from the Spanish right winger, who started like a rocket but lost a lot of steam in the second half. He was erratic, especially in decision-making in the final stages of the field.
