Lamine Yamal shines in comeback against Real Sociedad and Lewandowski celebrates it
The blaugrana star propels Barça to the top
Last Sunday's league matchday was favorable for Barça's interests, as their late comeback against Real Sociedad propelled the team. The culé victory, combined with Real Madrid's heavy defeat in the Madrid classic, pushed Barça to the top of the table. Barça's match was by no means easy; the Donostiarras made them work hard for the win.
The Basques took advantage of a defensive lapse to take the lead. Barça had no choice but to try to come back once again. The team monopolized possession and faced an inspired Alex Remiro in goal, who stopped everything that came his way. Finally, from a corner taken by Rashford, Koundé leveled the score.

The second half was much more open, and Remiro continued his display of saves, preventing Barça from taking the lead. The introduction of Lamine Yamal changed everything. A great individual play by the blaugrana star allowed the goalscorer Lewandowski to make it 2-1 on the Lluís Companys scoreboard. From then until the end, both Kubo and Lewandowski hit the woodwork, while Szczesny made a remarkable save to prevent the equalizer.
Lamine Yamal, decisive
The blaugrana star needed just one minute to set things right in a match where, for Real, their goalkeeper was the standout performer. Remiro had made things very difficult for Barça with his repeated interventions. That was until Lamine Yamal came on and, with a moment of brilliance, changed the course of the match.

He danced past his marker, Sergio Gómez, and sent a cross to the far post for Lewandowski to score the second goal that broke the tie. For the first time this season, Barça went top of the table thanks to the combination of results from the matchday. Barça kept possession at all times, but Real held firm at the back.
Lamine's immediate impact
Fifty-seven seconds after coming onto the field, a masterful play of his allowed Lewandowski to tip the match in Barça's favor. The Pole celebrated in style with a goooooal that burst from his lips with absolute joy. Lamine had gone 21 days without stepping onto a field, but that didn't stop him from changing the course of the match with his very first play.
Real had set up the match perfectly but hadn't counted on Lamine Yamal's brilliance. In front of more than 50,000 spectators, Lamine once again showed who's in charge on the field with his moments of genius. Hansi Flick acknowledged it at the end of the match, stating: "he's a special player" and adding "everyone has seen how good Lamine is."
