Bombshell! from Bernabéu to Old Trafford for €60M, Dani Ceballos applauds, he's definitely staying

The move United is preparing directly affects Ceballos's future

Dani Ceballos is experiencing a situation at Real Madrid that's as strange as it is frustrating. Even though Xabi Alonso's team lacks creative midfielders, the Utrera native hasn't managed to secure a regular spot in the starting eleven. His appearances are sporadic and his minutes are almost nonexistent, which contrasts with the technical quality and vision of the game he has always shown.

If we analyze his statistics, the outlook is clear. Dani Ceballos has spent more minutes on the bench than on the field, a clear sign that the coach doesn't fully trust him. Even so, Real Madrid's number "19" keeps an exemplary attitude, working day by day and not causing any conflict in the locker room.

What will happen with Dani Ceballos?

This lack of prominence has fueled rumors about his future at the white club. For months, Dani Ceballos has been strongly linked with a possible departure. Betis still dreams of his return, while in France, Olympique de Marseille almost finalized his signing last summer.

However, everything indicates that the Andalusian will keep wearing white. He still has a valid contract, he feels comfortable in Madrid, and his desire has always been to succeed at the biggest club in the world. Nevertheless, the scenario could become even more complicated in the coming months for Dani Ceballos.

Real Madrid keeps looking for a midfielder

Xabi Alonso has requested to strengthen the midfield with a new signing. Real Madrid's shortlist includes very prominent names such as Vitinha, Rodri, Stiller, Chema Andrés, or Adam Wharton. All of them fit the profile of the modern midfielder the coach is looking for: physical, with good judgment, and strong ball distribution.

Among all of them, the one most favored in certain sectors of Bernabéu is Adam Wharton, the leader at Crystal Palace. However, recent hours have completely changed the outlook for Real Madrid. According to British media, Manchester United will submit a €60 million ($65 million) offer for the young English midfielder.

Adam Wharton moves away from Real Madrid and Dani Ceballos celebrates

The €60 million ($65 million) offered by Manchester United for Adam Wharton is an exorbitant amount that  Real Madrid has no intention of matching. Florentino Pérez believes that price is far above Adam Wharton's real value. Thus, the white team is withdrawing from the bidding, leaving the way clear for the "red devils" to close the deal.

Curiously, this news comes as a relief for Dani Ceballos. With Adam Wharton's signing practically ruled out, his chances of staying in the squad increase considerably. The Andalusian will keep fighting for minutes and to show that he can be useful in the most competitive midfield on the planet.

At 29 years old, Dani Ceballos still has plenty of soccer and motivation to turn his situation around. Xabi Alonso values him for his talent and commitment, although he demands more consistency and influence in the game. With Real Madrid moving away from big-money signings like Adam Wharton, it seems clear that Ceballos can breathe easy, at least for now.
