AT&T's latest move exposes T-Mobile and Verizon's shortcomings: it's time to act

AT&T presents itself as one of the most comprehensive carriers on the market, and it conveys this to millions of Americans

The telecommunications sector in the United States is experiencing a true battle between giants. However, what AT&T has done recently could mark a turning point in the competition. With a series of impressive achievements, the company has managed to get ahead of its main rivals, T-Mobile and Verizon.

Now, these competitors will have no choice but to react. AT&T has shown that it holds the winning cards in terms of coverage, performance, and internet speed.

AT&T leads the way with key achievements

This summer, AT&T has achieved two milestones that haven't gone unnoticed in the telecommunications world. First, RootMetrics crowned AT&T as the company with the best performance during the first half of 2025. A few months earlier, in July, Ookla had named AT&T Fiber as the fastest fixed internet service provider in the entire country.

These recognitions not only validate the effort of AT&T, but also place the company in a privileged position compared to its competitors. While T-Mobile and Verizon keep insisting that their networks are the best, AT&T not only dismisses these claims. It also makes a clear nod to its own performance.

The company highlights its achievements in RootMetrics, where it was awarded several titles: Best Overall Wireless Network, Most Reliable Network, Fastest Wireless Network, and Best Call Performance. With these recognitions, it has made it clear that its infrastructure is hard to match, and that its rivals have a lot of work ahead if they want to keep up.

According to Ookla Speedtest, AT&T is also the leader in terms of internet speed. In addition, the company boasts of offering "unmatched connectivity" for consumers, businesses, and emergency personnel alike. This aspect of its network has been emphasized on several occasions, especially when AT&T's networks have been compared to those of T-Mobile and Verizon.

Competitors' data questioned

AT&T has questioned T-Mobile's claims about being at the forefront of connectivity. It pointed out that its network covers 186,411 sq. mi. (300,000 km²) more than its main competitor.

In addition, AT&T proudly claims that its wireless network is the largest in North America, with coverage reaching 99% of the U.S. population. Although this has not been independently verified, this figure makes it clear that in terms of geographic coverage, AT&T has a clear advantage over its rivals.
