David Alaba can renew with Real Madrid thanks to Liverpool's upcoming signing

The Austrian defender's future may take an important turn in the coming weeks if the rumors are confirmed

Real Madrid, strange as it may seem, is already thinking about next season and the urgent need to improve the defense. David Alaba, for example, should be the first to leave the white club at the end of the current campaign. His contract expires, he barely plays, and he earns a lot, so the decision seems easy, but the latest news coming from Liverpool may completely change his future at the Bernabéu.

After making a huge investment last summer, Arne Slot's team are still not getting going as was expected. They are currently in fourth place in the Premier League, 14 points behind the leaders, Arsenal. The defensive frailty that they are showing is taking its toll on them, and that is why Liverpool's board do not rule out strengthening the back line in the summer, a decision that may affect David Alaba.

David Alaba can renew with Real Madrid thanks to Liverpool's next signing

As we were saying, David Alaba's future at the Bernabéu seems all but sealed for multiple reasons. Florentino Pérez doesn't count on him and, in fact, only a miracle could change his fate. What nobody could expect was that this miracle was getting closer and closer to becoming reality.

To understand it, one has to analyze Real Madrid's plans in depth. The white club will let go, in addition to Alaba, Rüdiger, which will force Florentino Pérez to bring in at least two reliable center-backs for next season. The first one looks set to be Nico Schlotterbeck, from Dortmund, while the second name being mentioned is a former La Fábrica player who is dazzling everyone in Italy: Jacobo Ramón.

Jacobo is very much liked by Real Madrid's board, who are already considering his return to the Bernabéu to cover David Alaba's departure. He has become an undisputed starter for Cesc at Como and his performances are really good. So much so that, for the €8 million stated in his contract, his signing becomes almost mandatory.

Liverpool also want Jacobo Ramón

Florentino Pérez's idea with David Alaba and Jacobo Ramón is clear. However, Liverpool have also fully entered the race for the young Spanish center-back. At Anfield they are willing to pay much more than the €8 million that Real Madrid agreed with Como for his return, so anything can happen.

If that happens, David Alaba could stay one more year at the Bernabéu. Real Madrid can't afford to do without more defensive options, so if Jacobo Ramón ends up at Liverpool, Florentino could renew the "4"'s contract.

For now, Jacobo Ramón remains focused on what he does best: playing soccer. His individual level is growing in leaps and bounds, so it is normal that clubs of Liverpool's stature are interested in his services. That said, if Real Madrid put up the money, Jacobo's decision will be very easy: he will accept a return home to succeed, thus causing David Alaba's definitive departure.
