Barça's ratings against Getafe: 2 substitutes prove themselves and Flick has doubts

Barça beat Getafe 3-0 in a rain-soaked match in which two rarely used players redeemed themselves

Barça did their homework after defeating Newcastle in the Champions League and quickly overcame Bordalás's Getafe (3-0), who arrived at Johan Cruyff in good spirits. Barça returned to Johan and the culer stronghold, which in principle won't host any more first-team matches, brought luck again: another culer thrashing, this time against Getafe. The league match, corresponding to the fifth round of domestic competition, was led by two less usual players who redeemed themselves under Flick's watchful eye.

The German coach doesn't have a set starting eleven, but there are several players who are more regular than others and, therefore, more likely to start. Pedri, Frenkie de Jong, and Raphinha are the main ones and, fortunately, all three were able to rest against Getafe in the final minutes of the match, with the score already in their favor. The match was led by Ferran Torres, who scored a brace, and by Dani Olmo, who started again after several matches coming off the bench under Flick's leadership.

The negative note was the possible injury to Fermín López, who finished the match hurt after a collision with Luis Milla, midfielder for the "azulón" team. Flick highlighted that "he'll need to undergo tests," but the player from Huelva's participation in the upcoming matches is far from guaranteed. It's worth remembering that, once the Getafe test is passed, Barça will face Oviedo this coming Thursday and Real Sociedad over the weekend.

Barça's ratings against Getafe: 2 substitutes make their case and Flick has doubts

Joan García (8): The goalkeeper from Sallent barely had any work, but when Getafe tested him, he was alert and quick between the posts. He kept a clean sheet again, something Flick values very positively.

Gerard Martín (9): Nearly flawless match from the Catalan player, who had played almost everything against Newcastle in the Champions League. The player trained in Cornellà's ranks proved that he's ready to be more than just Alejandro Balde's usual substitute.

Andreas Christensen (7): Good match from the Danish center-back, who started again instead of Pau Cubarsí.

Eric García (9): Excellent match from the central defender from Martorell. Almost an undisputed starter for Flick. He provided a "semi-assist" to Raphinha in one of Ferran Torres's goals against Bordalás's Getafe.

Jules Koundé (7): Solid match from the French right-back, who was less sharp than on other days, especially in front of goal.

Pedri (10): Another outstanding match from Pedri, who won't travel to the Ballon d'Or gala this Monday. The Canary Islander keeps doing his thing and only thinks about winning three points at a time with Barça, the club of his life.

Frenkie de Jong (8): Notable match from the Dutch midfielder, who dictated the tempo of the match against Getafe. He played almost the entire match, although he was substituted and could rest to be fresher for Thursday's match against Real Oviedo.

Dani Olmo (8): Good match from the attacking midfielder from Terrassa, who found the net again. He was involved 76 times during the match, didn't lose the ball once, recovered 3 balls, and scored the third goal of the match against Getafe. Spectacular stats from "LaTDT" of Catalunya Ràdio, which show that the Egarense is ready to start, also due to Fermín López's absence.

Raphinha (6): Good match from the Brazilian, although he lacked "magic" in the attacking zone. He was substituted at halftime and gave his place to Marcus Rashford. He received a yellow card.

Robert Lewandowski (8): Good match from the Polish striker, although he didn't find the net against Getafe.

Ferran Torres (10): Another great performance from the Valencian striker, who scored a brace against Getafe. The Valencian's contract ends in June 2027 and he keeps proving that he deserves a renewal. He's fighting to be a starter, something Flick is starting to seriously consider.
