Gonzalo García is heading to the Premier League! He already has a new team, only the signature is missing.

The young Real Madrid forward who excelled at the Club World Cup already has a destination in the Premier League

The situation of Gonzalo García at Real Madrid hasn't evolved as many had desired. His breakthrough at the Club World Cup was spectacular: he finished as the tournament's top scorer and earned a place in the white team. From that moment on, the coach, Xabi Alonso, told him that he trusted him a lot.

However, once the official season started, his prominence has drastically decreased. Gonzalo García has only played 108 minutes with Real Madrid this season, and in the last three matches, he hasn't even set foot on the field. Given that scenario, his future seems more likely to be outside than inside Chamartín.

Competition holds back Gonzalo García

The promise that Gonzalo García symbolized at Real Madrid collided with the harsh reality of offensive competition.  The long shadow of Mbappé and the presence of Endrick make it difficult for him to secure a spot in the starting eleven. As a result, the young forward is already starting to look for solutions in the winter transfer market to avoid stagnation.

There was talk of Spanish teams like Getafe or Italian clubs like Roma being interested in Gonzalo García. However, in recent hours,  everything is pointing toward the Premier League. Brighton intends to make a strong bid in January to secure his services in a permanent transfer.

The most notable aspect of this operation is that Brighton wouldn't request a loan for Gonzalo García but would go directly for a transfer. They're willing to put approximately €20 million (about $21.7 million) on the table to convince Real Madrid. The response from the white club could be affirmative as long as an affordable buy-back clause is included to safeguard their rights.

Gonzalo García has one foot out of Real Madrid

For Real Madrid and for Gonzalo García, this operation presents itself as a viable solution. The club could free up a roster spot and capitalize on a promising player who currently isn't finding continuity. For the striker, it represents an opportunity to establish himself at the elite level without getting trapped in the white team's rotation.

Real Madrid must decide whether to keep Gonzalo García and bet on his internal development or accept the offer and reserve a way back. Xabi Alonso now faces a difficult decision: keep the youngster as an alternative or allow his departure if it guarantees minutes and value. Signing a transfer to the Premier League could mark a new path for both.
