Franco Mastantuono says goodbye: he has already played his last match with Real Madrid

The Argentine has seen his teammate leave and has already said goodbye in case he doesn't return

Real Madrid isn't going through its best moment and the signs of wear are starting to become evident. The squad can't seem to find consistency and the collective performance is well below what's desired for a project with the highest demands. In the offices, there is already talk of possible changes to the squad, as they are aware that the current course needs deep adjustments.

In this context, the name Franco Mastantuono emerges. The young Argentine talent arrived with high expectations, but his impact has been very limited and he still hasn't managed to adapt to the competitive pace. His performances have raised doubts, although the club believes it's still too soon to issue a definitive verdict.

Franco Mastantuono must react

For now, Franco Mastantuono will avoid an immediate exit. The coaching staff understands that he needs time, continuity, and a more favorable environment to show his true level. Even so, his situation isn't comfortable and his margin for error is starting to shrink dangerously.

Franco Mastantuono, despite the pubalgia he has suffered and his weak impact on the field, still has institutional support. The club trusts his talent and his ability to evolve, but they're also aware that time is running against him. If there isn't a clear reaction, his medium-term continuity will be seriously compromised.

However, even though Franco Mastantuono still hasn't convinced, over the next month and a half he'll have a golden opportunity to earn Xabi Alonso's full trust. His main competition for the spot on the right wing, Brahim Díaz, has already played his last match with Real Madrid.

It's true that his departure won't be definitive, since the reason for his absence is the Africa Cup of Nations. Brahim Díaz is Morocco's great leader and he'll seek to win the championship in a very special tournament, as it's being played in his country. Meanwhile, Real Madrid will have to wait for his return to be able to count on him again.

This situation creates an ideal scenario for Franco Mastantuono, who needs to take advantage of Brahim Díaz's absence. Tomorrow's match, in Copa del Rey, will be the first real test the Argentine will have to overcome. If he convinces in Brahim's absence, he's sure to get more minutes in the second part of the season.
