Dani Carvajal went straight to Fran García and told him to his face: 'Look what...'

Real Madrid's captain advises Fran García about his current situation

If there's a player who holds special significance in Real Madrid's squad, it's none other than Dani Carvajal, a footballer with great influence in the white locker room. Despite Alexander-Arnold's arrival this summer, Dani Carvajal's goal is to regain his best physical condition. He knows perfectly well that once he's back in good physical shape, his starting spot at Madrid won't be in danger.

Being able to play regularly this season is essential for Carvajal, considering that the 2026 World Cup is just around the corner. Coach Luis de la Fuente doesn't show favoritism to anyone; consequently, the Madridist's goal is to convince Xabi Alonso on a daily basis. The team has started the championship well, winning all three matches, and Carvajal has been getting minutes and regaining his form.

This isn't the case for the other full-back, in this case on the left side, we're talking about Fran García, whose situation is completely opposite to Carvajal's. No matter how well he performs, it seems he won't get minutes, as has already been proven. During the Club World Cup, he delivered a good performance, but since Álvaro Carreras's arrival, he has disappeared.

Dani Carvajal returns to the team

Real Madrid's right-back has become the team's first captain this season and has returned after his serious knee injury. Carvajal has undergone a tough recovery but has come back in great physical shape and is ready to fight for the starting spot. The Madrid-born full-back is pushing very hard to return to the starting eleven, which, in principle, was expected to take longer to reach an acceptable physical level.

His main competition is the Englishman Alexander-Arnold, who arrived this summer to better cover the right-back position. Last season, Madrid had major problems in defense due to continuous injuries. That's why Madrid has invested €170 million to rebuild and strengthen their back line.

The left-back

Another signing in defense has been left-back Álvaro Carreras, who has arrived to be a starter, while Fran García and Mendy are also waiting for their opportunity. So far, in three matches, Fran García hasn't played a single minute, indicating that Xabi Alonso doesn't count on him much. In this context, Dani Carvajal has wanted to act as captain and give Fran García some advice.

To the surprise of many, he has recommended that he leave the white discipline; Carvajal did the same when he was very young. He went on loan to Leverkusen, which is why he believes it would be very good for Fran García to have a similar experience. Carvajal told him: "Look at what I did, I left to come back stronger."

Fran García has taken the captain's words into consideration and it seems he's looking for a new destination to get minutes. If nothing changes, Fran García could pack his bags next January to go on loan to a top team. The full-back knows it's difficult to get minutes at the Merengue team right now due to the enormous competition that exists.
