Deco secures a last-minute signing for Barça from English club Aston Villa

The transfer market is closed, but that doesn't mean clubs like Barça, led in this case by Deco, can't make new signings to improve their respective squads. In this regard, Barça has fished in Aston Villa, the English club that says goodbye to a figure even more decisive and influential than Marcus Rashford, now on loan at Barça. Laporta and Deco haven't hesitated for a second: he's leaving Aston Villa and will join Barça to work in the sports structure led by the Portuguese sporting director.

Marcus Rashford has adapted perfectly to Flick's style and game plan, but he won't be Deco's big last-minute signing. Barça isn't ruling out bidding for Marcus Rashford, but, for now, they've opted for another talent coming from English Aston Villa. Neither Sevilla nor PSG: he'll sign for Barça coming from Aston Villa and, above all, thanks to Deco's call, which was key in the last-minute operation.

Barça already has a new signing and it's not Englishman Marcus Rashford, who's playing on loan from Manchester United until the end of the season. Barça and Flick are satisfied with Rashford, but Deco has worked on a parallel track: new signing coming from Aston Villa, it's completely confirmed by FC Barcelona. On top of all this, Deco already knows he's in for a busy week: possible return to Camp Nou, visit to Oviedo's stadium, and a league match against Real Sociedad.

Aston Villa still hasn't won a single match and, therefore, the Birmingham entity is preparing immediate changes, from which Deco and Barça want to profit. Barça's first signing is already completely closed: he arrives at Barça after a good spell at Aston Villa, but his cycle in England seems to have definitively ended. Deco already confirms it: last-minute signing secured and coming from Aston Villa, obviously not Marcus Rashford.

Aston Villa's poor start will have consequences and Deco's Barça will take advantage of them. One of the first will be the departure of Monchi, director of football for the "Villans", who has options to join Barça to lead, together with Deco, the sporting direction.

Barça's signing won't be Rashford, at least for now, but it'll be the genius of football management, who would arrive after a 2-year spell in England. The sporting director of the Birmingham entity will leave the position after a very tough start to the season: Unai Emery's team hasn't won a single match. This is confirmed by the specialized outlet "The Athletic", which states that the English club is considering more changes if the "Villans'" situation doesn't drastically improve soon.
